Green Chile Cafe started with a family, a food truck, and a deep love for real New Mexican cooking. That same spirit — bold flavors, generous portions, genuine hospitality — lives in every plate we serve today.
How It All Started
A food truck, a family, and fire-roasted green chile that stopped people in their tracks — that's where Green Chile Cafe began.
Why Green Chile
Green chile isn't a topping here — it's the whole point. Roasted until it's smoky and rich, it goes into the enchiladas, the burritos, the burgers, and yes, even the lemonade.
Putting Down Roots
The food truck found a permanent home on Redwood Road in North Salt Lake — growing into a full Southwestern Kitchen and Coffee Bar with the same family recipes.
A Place to Gather
The dining room is warm, the portions are generous, and every meal ends with complimentary sopapillas — because that's the New Mexican way. First-timers leave full; most of them come back the following week.
The Truck Still Rolls
The original food truck still hits local events and private catering gigs across the valley — a reminder of where this all started. Some things are worth keeping exactly as they are.
